Are you in compliance with the new Minimum Wage Hike? (PDF)

Here we are in the first few weeks of the new 2007-year. Employers that haven’t done so already must take the quick steps to ensure they are in compliance with the new California minimum wage.

This is a site you don’t want to miss looking at. Look back to the wage you started at in your working career and see how far we have come.

What are your New Years "Enviro-lutions"?

Here are some “envrio-lutions” that you can make this year to help green our community.

Water Conservation
  • I will only water my lawn when it is needed. I will save 750 to 1500 gallons of water per month.
  • I will not run my water hose while I am washing my car. I will save up to 1200 gallons of water per month.
  • I will shorten my shower by a minute or two. I will save up to 700 gallons of water per month.
 Clear Air
  • I will make sure my tires are properly inflated and aligned. I will save up to 300 gallons of gas per year.
  • I will combine my errand into one trip.
  • I will not top off my gas at the pump. By doing this I will stop fumes from escaping and reacting with nitrogen oxides and sunlight, creating smog.
Energy Efficiency
  • I will turn all lights when I leave a room.
  • When doing my laundry I will wash only full loads and use cold water to save 4% off my energy bill
  • In the winter I will set my thermostat to 68 degrees to save 5% of my heating cost.
  • In the summer I will set my thermostat to 78 degrees
 Recycling
  • I will reuse bags from the grocery store by taking them back and reusing them, using them as a lunch sack, or as a trash liner,
  • I will purchase products that are recycled or packed in recycled materials.
  • I will print on both sides of paper. I can always use the backside as scratch paper.
  • I will place a recycle bin in my home or at work.
